Panasonic Cup 2018 celebrates ‘Triple Happiness’

The Panasonic Cup Race Day was successfully held on 10 November 2018 at the Sha Tin Racecourse. Mr & Mrs David Mong, Chairman and CEO of Shun Hing Group, Ms Cynthia Mong, Executive Director of Shun Hing Electronic Trading Co., Ltd., Ms Cheung Man-yee, Vice Chairman of Shun Hing Education and Charity Fund hosted about 400 guests at the Jockey Club Box.

2018 brought along triple celebration for the Shun Hing Group and Panasonic as it not only marks the 35th anniversary of the Panasonic Cup, but also the 65th anniversary of the Shun Hing Group and the 100th anniversary of Panasonic Corporation. The Panasonic Cup was race 8 of the day with a distance of 1,400 meters and the stake money amounting to HK$2,625,000. The Cup was won by "Rattan" under the crop of C Schofield. Mr Kazuhiro Tsuga, President of Panasonic Corporation, Mr David Mong and Ms Cynthia Mong presented the trophies to the winning owner, trainer and jockey respectively. Apart from presenting a trophy and a Panasonic Mini Ice Freezer to the winning owner, trainer and jockey of the Panasonic Cup race, winning owners of other non-trophy races each received a trophy and a Panasonic IH Warm Jar.

This year, guests and hosts wore a touch of blue to match with the event theme colour. In addition to the showcasing of the Panasonic RF Ultrasonic Device, the Group also invited disabled artists from the Arts with Disabled Association of Hong Kong to showcase their talent and drew portraits of guests to provide for a lively atmosphere during race day.

During this year's event, Panasonic Inverter ECONAVI split type heat pump air-conditioner with Panasonic Comfort Cloud were displayed at the Member's Enclosure to allow guests to enjoy a customized experience. The event was highlighted with an exclusive offer for the Hong Kong Jockey Club members on purchases of audio visual, home appliances, health and beauty care products at very special prices.
