Shun Hing Education and Charity Fund donated HK$300 million to support the establishment of Tech Landmark of the University of Hong Kong
The Ground-breaking Ceremony for the Tech Landmark Project of the University of Hong Kong(HKU) was organized solemnly on 23 July 2022. The Shun Hing Education and Charity Fund is one of the major supporters for the establishment of the Project.
The Shun Hing Education and Charity Fund shows its continuous support to the education sector throughout the years. Tech Landmark will be the important research center of HKU and it is vital not only to the scientific and technological development of HKU but to Hong Kong as well. Dr. David Mong, Chairman of Shun Hing Education and Charity Fund says: "We are standing today on the precipice of an extraordinary new venture, one that will be the next leap forward in the evolution of discovery and innovation. The HKU Tech Landmark is set to become a vibrant, globally impactful community at the forefront of cutting-edge research in science and technologies, and where the world's top talents will convene in active exchanges and collaborations. The Shun Hing Education and Charity Fund donated HK$300 million to support the construction of the Tech Landmark of the University of Hong Kong. Tech Landmark comprises 3 towers with a total floor area of 45,000 sqm and a target completion date in late 2024. It will host 12 institutes dedicated to strategic research with a strong focus on interdisciplinary studies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, smart materials, quantum science and biomedical engineering. It is set to become a hub for innovative thinking, learning, teaching, research and entrepreneurship.
