The 39th Panasonic Cup race day with ten splendid races

Ten splendid races have been taken place on the 39th Panasonic Cup race day on 12 November 2022 at Shatin Racecourse. The Panasonic Cup was race 7 of the day (Class 1 Handicap, 1,400m) and the stake money amounting to HK$3,465,000. Trained by David Hall, Beluga (No.8) won the Cup by beaten the horse at the second place by a neck. Mr. Izumi Tomozawa, President of Panasonic Hong Kong Co. Ltd., presented a trophy to Ngai Man, owner of Beluga, Dr. David Mong, Chairman & CEO of Shun Hing Group, presented a trophy to trainer David Hall, and Ms. Cynthia Mong, Executive Director of Shun Hing Electronic Trading Co., Ltd., presented a trophy to winning jockey Zac Purton respectively. Zac Purton also won the Panasonic Cup in 2021 which brought him consecutive wins of the Cup.

A theme colour is set every year for Panasonic Cup and this year is the elegant purple colour. Both guests and hosts wore a touch of purple to match with the event theme colour for fun. The classic-rice-cooker-like trophies for the 39th Panasonic Cup were also embedded with amethyst and diamonds which were a great match with the event theme colour! The winning owner, trainer and jockey of the Panasonic Cup race were presented a trophy and a Panasonic Tangle-Free Stick Type Vacuum Cleaner. Winning owners of other non-trophy races each received a trophy and a Panasonic Hot Plate.

This year the Best Turned Out Horse Presentation of Panasonic Cup was awarded to Healthy Happy. Ms. Jasmie Mong (right), Senior Manager, Marketing Communications Division of Shun Hing Electronic Trading Co. Ltd, presented a prize and a Panasonic nanoe® Air Purifier to the Stables Assistant responsible for Healthy Happy.

As one of the longest-standing commercial sponsors of the Hong Kong Jockey Club's horseracing events, the Panasonic Cup will welcome the 40th in 2023. Stay tuned!
