The 38th Panasonic Cup filled with joy and happiness
The annual significant event of Shun Hing Group--Panasonic Cup Race Day was held on 13 November 2021 at the Sha Tin Racecourse successfully. The Panasonic Cup was race 7 of the day (Class 1 Handicap, 1,400m) and the stake money amounting to HK$3,150,000. Lucky Express, trained by John Size, won the Cup and this is the 5th Panasonic Cup that John Size has won which deserves a big round of applause! Mr. Kenichi Okada, Consul General of Japan in Hong Kong presented the trophy to the winning owner Larry Yung Chi Kin, Dr. David Mong, Chairman & CEO of Shun Hing Group presented the trophy to the winning trainer John Size, and Ms. Cynthia Mong, Executive Director of Shun Hing Electronic Trading Co. Ltd. presented the trophy to the winning jockey Zac Purton respectively.
The trophies for this year's Panasonic Cup were produced with 3D printing technology shaping as the classic Panasonic rice cooker and embedded with valuable peacock green garnets. The winning owner, trainer and jockey of the Panasonic Cup race were presented a trophy and a Panasonic 2 in 1 Air Purifying Dehumidifier. Winning owners of other non-trophy races each received a trophy and a Panasonic 2-in-1 IH Warm Jar.
This year the Best Turned Out Horse Presentation of Panasonic Cup was awarded to Fast Most Furious. Mr. Izumi Tomozawa, President of Panasonic Hong Kong Co., Ltd. presented the prize money and a Panasonic Smart Oven to the Stables Assistant responsible.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Shun Hing Group could not host a banquet at the Jockey Club Box last year. It was really meaningful to be able to meet close friends and business partners at the Jockey Club Box again this year. To create a lively atmosphere, specially-designed masks were prepared and gave away for free to all the guests, HKJC members at the racecourse and the public who enjoyed themselves at the designated catering outlets in the public zone, bringing happiness of Panasonic Cup to people around!
