The 40th Panasonic Cup marks a new milestone
As one of the longest-standing commercial sponsors of the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s horseracing events, the 40th Panasonic Cup marked a new milestone with extraordinary meaning! The 40th Panasonic Cup race day took place on 11 November 2023 at Shatin Racecourse with 10 marvelous races. The highlight of the day Panasonic Cup was race 7 (Class 1 Handicap, 1,400m) and the stake money amounting to HK$3,720,000. The Frankie Lor-trained Sauvestre (No. 5), ridden by Luke Ferraris, won the 40th Panasonic Cup.
Mr. Tetsuro Homma, Executive Vice President of Panasonic Holdings Corporation, presented a trophy to Jackson So Hoi Wing, owner of Sauvestre, Dr. David Mong, Chairman & CEO of Shun Hing Group, presented a trophy to trainer Frankie Lor, and Ms. Cynthia Mong, Executive Director of Shun Hing Electronic Trading Co., Ltd., presented a trophy to winning jockey Luke Ferraris.

As 2023 is also the 70th Anniversary of Shun Hing Group, the trophies were specially embedded with precious diamonds in different colors to show the Group’s company logo in an elegant way. The winning owner, trainer and jockey of the Panasonic Cup race were presented a trophy and a Panasonic 55 inch 4K MINI LED Smart TV and a Panasonic Home Theatre System Soundbar. Winning owners of other non-trophy races each received a trophy and a Panasonic Steam Oven.
