Panasonic Cup 2019 filled with Fun and Happiness
The Panasonic Cup Race Day was successfully held on 9 November 2019 at the Sha Tin Racecourse. Mr. & Mrs. David Mong, Chairman and CEO of Shun Hing Group, Ms. Cynthia Mong, Executive Director of Shun Hing Electronic Trading Co., Ltd., Ms. Cheung Man-yee, Vice Chairman of Shun Hing Education and Charity Fund hosted about 300 guests at the Jockey Club Box.
The Panasonic Cup was race 7 of the day and the stake money amounting to HK$2,800,000. To remark the 36th anniversary of the Panasonic Cup, the Alfred Chan-ridden Encouraging won the Cup with a broken track record at this 1,400m race. Mr. Tetsuro Homma, CEO, China & Northeast Asia Company of Panasonic Corporation, Mr. David Mong and Ms. Cynthia Mong presented the trophies to the winning owner Ms. Ada Wong Yin Man, trainer John Moore and jockey respectively. Apart from presenting a trophy and a Panasonic Robot Cleaner to the winning owner, trainer and jockey of the Panasonic Cup race, winning owners of other non-trophy races each received a trophy and a Panasonic Double Mineral nanoe™ Hair Dryer.
Race day was full of fun and happiness with a number of special programs this year. Two of the ten awardees of Panasonic Sports Scholarship Mr. Shek Wai Hung, Stone(Gymnastics) and Miss Lau Mo Sheung, Grace(Karatedo) were invited to join the Panasonic Cup and shared their latest updates about fighting for a ticket to Tokyo Olympic Games. Stone shared the good news that he has already booked a ticket to next year's Tokyo Olympic Games after finishing seventh in the men's vault at the world championship which got a big round of applause! Both Stone and Grace also experienced the latest Panasonic product XD20 Double Mineral nanoe™ Hair Dryer and XT30 Advanced Ionic Cleansing and Toning Device.
Another special highlight for this year's event was the launch of the new corporate video of Shun Hing Group to all the guests and the public. The corporate video was filmed shooting by a Panasonic GH5 Camera in 4K quality. All actors and actresses in this video are actually the staff of Shun Hing Group and they come from different group companies.
Every year Shun Hing Group prepares a very special souvenir for all the guests. This year, the Group worked with a social enterprise Les Beatitudes to design some very special tote bags. These tote bags were sewed by grassroots women with donated neckties and each bag is unique. Shun Hing Group hopes to show the support to the underprivileged segment in society.
